As stated by Yoris Sebastian, time is not equal to money. He is uplifting a new way of thinking that "time is more valuable than money". It is precisely true that each individual will try to seek for some help to get a time machine; taking them all to the past and fixing what they've done. Unfortunately, we are just holding back to the mistakes by hoping that happen.

I myself always believe that every mistake we've created will supposedly pass no matter how hard it tried to kill us. Yes, money can't erase our mistake. But money can be used as the thing to make us no longer think about the mistake. Buying books or ice creams, anyone?

Perhaps you also know what I am talking about.

By reading this book, I learn that people can earn money as much as they can. But not with the time. Time is running whether you are catching them up or not. If Yoris Sebastian tried to bring the idea that money and time cannot be comparative, I agree. To be honest, I don't really like the comparative statement either. Time and money is not something you can choose as trivial game. They are not apple-to-apple. Instead on thinking what you can't catch up with money,  you need to move on and try enjoying every time you've been given.

Start to think like, "What the fuck do I care with money?"

Sure, money is full of wasteful thingy. You need money to live. But Yoris Sebastian--on second and third part of his book--told me that the more we are being attached by money, the longer we will spend the time "employing" ourselves to the prices. Money, money, money. We are thinking crucially that we cannot purchase anything without money. Man, it sucks.

YOU ARE NOT MONEY'S SLAVES, DON'T YOU? THEN, FIGHT!

I have ever experienced the days without money so that I start to apply my friend's notes.

Instead of buying snacks in the middle of the day, it is more efficient if we buy lunch or dinner to ease the starving.

After I bought the meal with money, I can try to earn them again since money is being printed each year in a country. But you cannot put time as that simple. You cannot earn time. So, it is absolutely  and literally true that time is more valuable than money.

In the end of the book, you will also find the most inspiring essay written by Yoris Sebastian. We can predict how much money we can earn and save. But it will never happen to time. Use your time wisely and don't overthink everything. You only live once.

ALL HAIL YOLO!

Yoris Sebastian was born in Makassar. As he keep pursuing his interest in economic development in Indonesia, he then was chosen as the youngest general manager in Asia. He was the GM of Hard Rock Cafe Indonesia. He is also an active writer and this book is his second book. And I can say that you don't need to follow his steps to understand about time and money, you just need to read this book and listen to him talking about his perspective.

If you are looking for self-improvement book, I highly recommend to read this book.

Oh, usually I am writing English in my other blog. Since it is a review, so I decide to write it down here. Plus, I challenge myself not to be so platonic in writing any book-review in Bahasa Indonesia. It is probably a step that I will take regularly--at least once a month--to enhance my blog audiences. Hopefully you can understand what I am trying to achieve.

Masio Boso Inggrisku koyok asu, tapi tetep, mari belajar!

*bangsat, sok banget kau, May*

Hahaha

  3. At least, you've tried your best, May. I'm so passive, and still have trouble to start writing in English. It's pathetic.

Menulis kalimat barusan saja, saya agak ragu. Tapi bodo amatlah. Hahaha.

Masa-masa enggak punya duit, tai banget emang, sih. Pengin ngemil aja, kudu ditahan-tahan. Wqwq.

    1. Aku sekarang falsafah hidupnya ngikut kamu, Yogs. Mending makan berat daripada jajan. Setelah diterapkan sekarang jadi agak lega. Ya lega di timbangan, ya lega di dompet--pengeluaran. Wkwk.

Dulu aku pernah kepikiran bikin perpus gitu. Alhasil sekarang dijual-jualin deh. Hehe.

  4. I agree to this: "time is not equal to money"

Many people always say time is money. No, it's not. Time and money are two different things. And yes, time is way more valuable than money. Because we surely can't turn back time so whatever we did in the past become our history but we can always work on something to get money. When you lose some money, it's not like you can never get it back somewhere else. But when you did something wrong to someone or some people, it can crush your relationship with that person and some people just don't forget and forgive easily.

    Me totally agree!!

    1. Correct. Even relationship is way bigger than money. And money can be one of affecting factors destructing the relationship, even in family :')
